One of my favorite things about Winter time in the Midwest is how it brings the Eagles back to The Good Life. Photographing Wildlife is truly a challenge that requires a lot of patience as there is no "set-up" or "magic light"; you adjust to what Nature gives you. You have to not only be fast with your reaction but keen with the ability to pan and predict motion of the Wildlife.
In addition to my usual "Lunch With The Eagles" I've got quite a few little "expeditions" planned to Central Nebraska and Northwest Missouri where The Eagles tend to migrate to. I'm really looking forward to roughin' it in a Wildlife blind overnight to capture the Wildlife at Sunset as well as Sunrise. It will have to suffice at this point until someday I make an official expedition to Alaska...
I love the new photog blog! You are so talented, Gary! I hope you make it to Alaska soon. We went a couple years ago. It is amazingly beautiful. As for eagles, we saw dozens everyday to the point that it was "oh another eagle, no big deal.". :)
